In defense of Americans (and flags), you’re driving around America in advance of our July 4th/Independence Day celebrations (and/or some people left them out between Memorial Day and July 4 OR you happened upon pockets of folks who are big on celebrating Flag Day (6/14) — it would be easier to rationalize an explanation if one knew the date).
Plus, you’re headed to Boston with plenty of sites that are linked to America’s road to Independence.
Alternatively, you just drove through the previously unidentified Flag Nuts Thruway. 🙂
