He is! Good grief. I finally did it though. Had meteor armour so that I get the bonus of unlimited ammo on the space gun. And then I flattened out the dungeon, and placed the nurse near there.
And then I used up all my stars in a star cannon as well. I don’t know how many times I died, but there are gravestones everywhere.
I did leave a gravestone near the nurse once. In the heat of the moment, when trying to click her, I clicked the grave stone. That… lead to my death. Stupid gravestone.
