Errol: Oh. Right. Are you wasting them all?!
Keren: It's not wasting.

Errol: But...but...is there a way for us to eat them?!
Keren: There are plenty of eggs in the fridge for you!

Errol: Wasting eggs hurts my heart.
Keren: Why does this come as a shock to you every year?
Errol: Huzzah!! Look at all the eggs in the fridge!!

I have never heard of that.
Either you dye them while boiling them, so that you have dyed hardboiled eggs
Or you make a tiny hole in both ends and blow the yolk and white into a bowl, to make a cake or scrambled eggs … Then you dye or decorate the shells.
