I never read the book as a kid, so I didn’t get excited over the Make Way For Ducklings statue in the common, but it’s always covered in tourists. I feel kind of envious really.
For us, it’s because we didn’t realize it was in Boston. We also liked the Franklin books, and there are statues of that in Toronto, but we weren’t as excited there. Possibly because the Franklin books weren’t based on the locale.

Pedantry – the ducklings, pond, bridge, swan boats, et c are in the Public Garden. The Boston Common is across the street.
