The only film we could fit into the time we had was only available in IMAX. I wasn’t too sure what the difference was between it and a normal theatre other than the sound. It was so loud! Now I feel old.

IMAX has a larger screen, digital projector, and larger sound system. If I recall, the THX Deep Note was designed to demonstrate the range of the IMAX sound system. (Nowadays, there’s a lot of variety with digital projectors and sound even on standard screens, so it can get confusing).
The screen didn’t seem that much larger. Then again, we haven’t been to the movies in months. 😀
