You know those shows where a person goes back in time and using their future knowledge, they make all sorts of things and have all sorts of advantages. Yeah, I wouldn’t be able to do anything.

  1. My rice cooker has a crock part and a pot part. There’s a button in the bottom of the pot. When I put the crock part in, and add the rice and water, it presses the button down. and the crock part sits flush. When it’s finished cooking, the crock part is sitting crooked again. I can only assume that the weight of the raw rice plus the water presses the button down and keeps the rice cooking, and that when the rice is done, it somehow weighs less, and can’t keep the button pressed, so the circuit is broken and it turns off. I have no idea why a cup of rice that has absorbed a cup of water weighs less than the cup of rice and cup of water weigh separately.
